Apple's System Status page is reporting that some users may be unable to make purchases on the iTunes Store, an outage that started this morning around 10:30 AM Pacific time. This is in addition to issues with Game Center and FaceTime earlier this morning.

MacRumors has heard from several readers who say they cannot purchase, download or update apps, or make purchases of new iTunes media content.

Update: Apple claims the issues have been fixed
Multiple Services - 11:28 AM - 12:57 PM - Some users were affected

Users may have been unable to make purchases from the App Store, iTunes Store, Mac App Store, or iBookstore. Users may also have been unable to access iTunes in the Cloud, iTunes Match, or restore purchases from an iCloud backup.
Update 8:57 PM: According to Apple's system status page and reader reports, the problem has returned, with the iTunes Store, App Store, Mac App Store, and iBookstore all experiencing difficulties starting around 8:00 PM Pacific Time.

This prevented me from streaming 'After Earth' on my Apple TV earlier. I think Apple may have just been trying to save me the two hours.

I guess this is why the updates icon was showing 3, yet there were 0 when I went to look.

Apple's online services once again doing what they were seemingly build to do...crash.

So they fix problems that make them lose money in a matter of minutes, but it takes days/weeks to fix customer bugs like iMessage glitches?

Get your crap together Apple!

6:30 PM and I still can't purchase. not sure if it's just the network or apples servers at their finest.

Makes sense why I wasn't able to face time earlier today. Thanks for this, I shoulda checked it out sooner. ha

I am having problems connecting to App Store. I can't download Apps or Updates... I think the problem hasn't been fixed

Update: It's down again (if it had ever been fixed earlier). I can't download any apps and after I tried logging out of the store I can't log in anymore with the error message: "Cannot connect to iTunes store". iTunes on my computer even returned a HTTP 503.1 Service Unavailable Error. Meanwhile Apple's system status page says everything is fine. That's unacceptable!

I ran into this problem earlier this evening while trying to buy a song. So I bought it from Amazon.com instead. No loyalty in the Internet age...

$%^&... been trying on and off all day but been too busy to check what's happening. One of those days where I don't have a spare minute.

It's told me my password was wrong, it's told me I got the wrong username or password, it's said I can't be connected so I assume password or username issue.

Just tried ti download the app that I need for work in 12 hours and it's downloaded and working.

How cool. Nice when things work.

Still not working for me

iTunes (10.6.3) on my PPC iMac since yesterday will no longer let me purchase a song despite the fact that the systemstatus page states that all systems are functioning.

Now it is back to normal

iTunes (10.6.3) on my PPC iMac since yesterday will no longer let me purchase a song despite the fact that the systemstatus page states that all systems are functioning.

I went ahead and made my song purchase on my iPad yesterday. Today the link on iTunes on my iMac is active again. Who knows what the glitch was and what corrected it...I am just glad it is functioning again.
