I am trying to get on google talk via Adium (I have also tried through iChat). And it keeps giving me the same error: Gaim Error, Write Error

I have tried google talk and Adium's help section and nothing they suggest works. I am behind a university's pretty restrictive firewall, but other people on campus are able to use it albeit via PC's running the actual Google talk software. Is there any help anyone can give me?

If it does, i doubt it works with Adium.

Try AIM or iChat.

The latest version supports Google Talk (text only i believe)

What ports for example are those people using, if they are not the default ones

Google Talk uses the Jabber protocol so anyone using iChat or Fire should be able to do a text chat.

I use it with Adium and iChat, with both of them you just set it up as a Jabber account, they only support text. There isn't a voice chat Gtalk voice chat available.
