I'm considering getting one to load up XBMC onto, to stream my movies to my TV. I'm debating whether I should just wait for the 360 to get hacked, and use that instead, as I'll probably grab one of those as well (for gaming).

Basically yes ... he also got a one-year suspended sentence.

With a mod chip it can be made into a decent media center.

I have a problem with not reading the whole post at times

If its an Xbox sans 360 then i would give it to you local or nearest children's hospital, i am sure they would love to give it a home where their patients could use it for some enjoyment.

Why does somebody wants to give you an Xbox if you dont like it? Just say you don't want it, maybe he/she will give you something else.

Mod it using an eXecuter chip (v.3 or above) and make it a media PC. Course you'll have to swap out the hard drive, and there is some work with the bios, but after that, and you get Xbox Media Center on it, it's mighty nice.
