Yeah, when I sync'd my new iPad from my iPad 2 it renamed it "so and so's" iPad 2. No biggie.. Interesting though!
Same thing here. this is my first ipad and it popped up as that as well. Pretty funny to me. As long as i know its the new one i dont care what apple calls it
I am seeing the same issue. I originally restored from my iPad 2's iCloud backup... so I thought that maybe a setting carried over.
I tried the "reset all settings" and that didn't work. So I ended up erasing it and setting up as a new iPad.
Still seeing iPad 2 under the iTunes "Manage Devices". It hasn't caused any issues with downloading apps/music, just annoying to see it not say "The New iPad". Hopefully it'll get fixed in an iTunes update.
Yep, just checked mine...Glad I did, still showing the old two and underneath it a new two... If I go to the Apple products page it says third generation though...Somebody just screwed up...Good heads up, I removed the old one as a buddy has it now.

I believe there have been a few threads where this was brought up previously so it's widespread...doesn't really mean anything AFAIK though.
