i have everything set up right on my mac, but i can only access my macs from the iphone on the same wifi network that theyre on, i cant use it over edge or any other wifi network than my own. is this supposed to be the only functionality of the app or am i doing something wrong?

You need to set up port forwarding and make sure your firewall will pass the data, too. That's the big difference between being on the same local network (your wireless) and trying to get to your network from outside (other wifi or 3G/EDGE).

Yep, port forwarding on your router needs to be setup properly. Keep in mind, you won't be able to test if port forwarding is working if you're on the same wifi network, you have to jump on 3G or EDGE to test that.

ps. VNC is a huge security risk...I wouldn't recommend running it...This reminds me the old back orifice games I used to play on people.
