Why can I not paste into a folder I brought up by using Finder search? For example, I am in a folder on one Finder tab, and I need to move a file from that folder to another folder. I open a new Finder tab and search for the destination folder quickly. Now you would think I would just able to paste that file from the other tab into this folder, but no. Apparently, macOS does not allow you to paste into a search result? File Explorer has no problem with this. It seems insane to me. Am I missing something here?

Nope, you're not missing anything. I just tried what you described and you're right. Can't paste into a Finder search results tab/window.

Only way I know of for doing this is to have destination folder in its own tab and then you drag the file onto the tab of the destination folder and let go, but you have to let go quick. If you hesitate it won’t work.
