Hey all, been a long, long time since I've had to post on macrumors (I got a job at Apple many years ago and was forbidden from posting here), but I've encountered a really bizarre scenario:

On a transcontinental flight on October 10th, my new AirPod Pro 3 failed in the left AirPod. (The battery was showing as fully charged on that side in the widget)

I was able to resolve the issue after trying to hard reset repeatedly for about 45 mins. Then earlier last week they failed again on the left. I took the AirPods to Apple retail, who diagnosed a bad left AirPod and waited three days for a replacement to arrive. When it did arrive, it wouldn't pair or hardreset. Apple diagnosed the case as bad and sent it off to the depot this time.

In the meantime, I dug out a pair of AirPod Pro 2s with lightning that my wife had been using without issuesuntil I got the pro 3's a few weeks back and she got my old pro2's with USB-C .

I charged them overnight and came back this morning to find that the left AirPod had failed, and they won't hard reset.

Both models fail the hard reset with a green light instead of a white light. The tech at the Apple store told me he had heard one guy who had the same experience earlier that week. I think something is failing with a software update in my environment, but I have no idea what to do if the AirPods won't hard reset. Has anyone been through this before?
