When you open a bunch of tabs (15 or so), Safari runs out of room and places a >> at the end of the list of tabs. Then when you click on the >> it gives you a pull down list of all the other sites that you have open in tabs that are out of view. Now comes the part that I don't understand. When you click on one of the sites in that pull down list and it pops up why is it not listed as a tab. How are you supposed to close this website when there is no X click on?

For example, in the pic I have below, I opened a bunch of untitled tabs and then I opened eBay. But as you can see eBay is not listed as a tab and there is no way for me to close the eBay site. Why is Safari like this? In Firefox, you can simply click on the >> arrow and the tabs move to the side and you can see the tab you're currently on.
