I love Google Docs but I am trying to distance myself from Google. Is there another service that offers online document storage and maybe integraded gmail?

ZoHo http://www.zoho.com/
Microsoft Office online http://office.microsoft.com/en-gb/

I think it's only Google and Microsoft that integrate e-mail and online office services, there isn't a huge amount to choose from.

any reason, privacy aside, that you're trying to distance yourself from Google? if you love Google Docs as much as I do nothing else will replace it.

in terms of just online webmail you are spoilt for choice.

gmail is at the top of that list though.

I never understood what people liked about Gmail. Seriously, why is it considered so great? I've had Yahoo! Mail for a long time, I write and receive emails and send small files occasionally, and it works fantastic for all of that. (Heck I still use Mail Classic, I refuse to upgrade that Outlook Express copy crap.) I haven't touched Gmail in three years or so, but I always found the way your emails were filed to be confusing, it was slow and not very pretty.

Only Google product I use and think is half decent is Chrome on my netbook, and I still have a lot of complaints about it. But it seems like it's the only simple yet customizable browser these days that isn't buggy and slow.

Because it's spam filter is by far the best and the protections in place for preventing your account from getting hijacked are a lot better than Yahoo's. Yahoo as a company is going downhill anyway. Get off that sinking ship before it's too late.

I know Yahoo has got some problems these days, but I really try to not use Google anything. I'm just not a fan of their products, I never saw what people liked about them so much.
