Something odd in Safari's address bar

I wonder how my credit union got this to appear in Safari's address bar? (I'm talking, of course, about the small green title on the right, next to the refresh icon.)

It's just a link to the site's VeriSign Certificate. Click on the green text and you will see the certificate information. Certificates are used so you know the site is authentic and not a phishing scam site.

All that does is tell you the site is secure. Same things happens with paypal and other transaction sites.
