I noticed a rattle in my iPhone4 today. It sounds like something small is loose inside the casing. /edit/ Its the power button. When I shake the iphone it rattles, but when I hold the power button and shate there is no rattle.

I have the iPhone since launch last year, and I've confirmed its out of warranty.

I was thinking of taking apart the phone to see what is rattling around inside. Is this;
(a) a good idea, and
(b) a difficult thing to do?

Is there anything else I can do? Any ideas on how to fix this or whether or not Apple would repair/replace are greatly appreciated. Would taking the phone apart be a way to fix this? Its probably a small thing, but I know it'll drive me and my OCD crazyyyyyyy ......

Thanks in advance for all answers/suggestions.

Stop shaking it. :)

They all have some kind of rattle if you really want to shake it up next to your ear. It's a mechanical button. Put a Bumper on it. I can't really imagine it would bother anyone.....

Maybe I should have said thanks in advance for any useful answers/suggestions :rolleyes:

The rattle only started today. Could there be something that is now broken?

I already have a bumper ... Speck pixelskin HD ...

Ah, no. :(

The back does come off with just two screws. I'd take a look to make sure nothing is bouncing around. :)

Ummm, have you ever considered, you know, contacting Apple if you think it is defective? :rolleyes:
