When I try to search for an application, the window format changes. How do I revert it to the normal self.

I have no idea how to remove it but it is not a virus. It's used if you have different partitions or are accessing different computers on a network..

Ouh. But I'm not using any of these things. It feels weird though.

And how do I remove the Search: This Mac bar? Is this a virus?

A virus? Is it a self-replicating malicious piece of code that can infect other machines automatically? No? Then it's not a virus? Get real.

You cannot remove it: it's how search in the Finder works.

That is normal and as far as I know you can't remove it. From that bar you can specify whether to search the current folder or the entire computer and if you press the + button you can add extra criteria for your search if you want to.

Um I have no idea what you are talking about there for some requirement for the search feature but i do know it is not a virus.

Please note that you can't see most virus's operating until it is to late and unlike windows Macs are not aflicted as much by random companies offering BS search bars to compliment the ones that are already built into every inch of the OS

Ok. Thanks for the prompt reply guys. What I meant was under the "eye thing"
there's a bar that says "this mac;administrator;contents file name". I never really noticed the bar was there or is it?

That is what I was talking about in my reply before. It is normal.
