Whew. I had a very nice family FaceTime session that I screen recorded (as I always do, it’s my tradition, for memories). After the FT session, I ended the screen recording, and it scared the bejeezus out of me because on the Dynamic Island, it kept spinning and kept saying “Saving recording” but nothing appeared in Photos.app. It took a good 5 minutes to finally save and finish. I was really worried because 1) this has never happened before; screen recording saves, even with long ones, was always instantaneous on iOS 15, and; 2) I was afraid something had gone corrupted and the screen recording was all for naught/glitched out, especially with a brand new iOS version.

But, all is good. If any of you run into the same issue — just wait. Don’t panic. It will eventually finish and save. It’s just not as fast as it was on iOS 15 for whatever reason. Hopefully this helps anyone else who has the same experience.

Have you worked out a way of recording the audio as well as picture. A while ago I had an important FaceTime call and recorded it and was devastated at the end to realise it had only recorded the picture but no sound (my sons wedding thousands of miles away)
