Song Lyrics Won't Show Up..

Hey,
I downloaded a song from the internet because it was french (I download my other songs from iTunes) and I wanted to put the english lyrics in it so I went to Get Info and then Lyrics and put them in, but the song already had something in the lyrics like the site i got it from i guess, so i deleted it and put the english lyrics in, and synced the iPhone (4s) but the lyrics part didnt change?? So i deleted the song and turned off my iPhone (because of iCloud) then reput the song in and changed the lyrics but it still didnt work, btw I put an album cover in and that worked... please help!

Long story short I want to change song lyrics on a song, but it wont change on my iPhone.
