I like the new UI, but I still would like to better speed of the app. Hopefully it will be a qualified alternative to iTunes when it reaches 1.0

Songbird is a browser/Media manager/(local/online) Media player. It runs on top of Mozilla's gecko and VLC's media codecs.

It supports skins and extensions that includes iPod device support, etc.
