I got a MBP 2.4 GHz 15 Inch today, this was to replace my old iBook G4. I have several hundred songs that I want to put on my new MBP, but I purchased them from iTunes on the iBook. Can I get some suggestions on how to transport these songs to my new computer.

(1) Target disk mode, but the 6pin fire wire will cost you $40-$50 if you don't have one

(2) USB Flash drive

(3) SSH? (never tried it, but.......)

I used a 2gb flash drive and that seemed to do the trick. Granted it did take a few transfers, but it got the job done! I had it lying around which meant I didnt have to go out and buy a firewire cord! :D

Setup Assistant. Everything comes over intact, including user name and info. Firewire target mode. Virtually a piece of cake.
