New member here...not very tech savvy...my iPod touch lately has been adding songs, songs that aren't mine, even when it hasn't been connected to a computer. How do I stop this? Is there a way to get rid of all the unwanted songs easily? I'm sure the songs are my sons, I think the iPods were both on the same account...do I need to set up a seperate account with iTunes? If I do that will I have to manually add all my music back onto the device?

you dont indicate if you or your son has Apple Music or not...so the info below may or may not be so useful.

- the songs are obviously being added because the iPod is logged into your son's apple iCloud or iTunes account.
- there can only be one apple iCloud account running on one device at any time.
- you can turn off iTunes from automatically downloading any Music at all
- you can also turn off iTunes from downloading any Music on while using Cellular data, limiting downloads to Wifi
- in apple Music you can turn off downloading individual songs that are in playlists

difference between iTunes and Apple Music:
iTunes is an app for music purchase.
Apple Music is a monthly subscription where you can download or stream an infinite amount of music while you are subscribed but loose it all when you stop subscribing.

if your son is still using his own account for his own device(s), then the best thing to do is to decide if you want the iPods in yr possession to still be on his account, and therefore get his Music, or, log out of yr son's account on these iPods and sign in to it with your own account.

you can also consider if a Family Account works for your son and you as well.

Best thing to do is complain to your son & get him to fix it... haha...

1st thing: go to Settings --> Music & if anyone (you or your son,) are signed into Home Sharing, & turn it off.
(Home Sharing lets you listen to songs/music/movies/podcasts that you have saved on iTunes or your computer & lets you listen to it on your iPod without the need to save the media on your iPod/& play through home stereo etc..)

or (most likely) ...iCloud is copying his songs/movies/downloads to your iPod's iCloud...

Just go to Settings --> iTunes & App Store, & turn off Automatic Downloads.

...also, to delete, just go to the Music app & whatever you want to delete, just click the " ... " 3 red dots on the right of the song/album/artist...
& choose Delete From My Music
(it MAY/MAY NOT ask if you want to remove the file &/or just delete from your iPod (i forget exactly,) just choose to delete/remove from the iPod, but not delete the media.

...there's a few ways to copy/share/download between devices, so it can be confusing & tricky :)

Thank you...everything is turned off at my end...will check my sons settings when he gets home...thanks!
