Songs that I rate on my iPhone won't sync to iTunes on my Mac?

Hey all,

I'm on the latest version of iTunes and iOS and I've noticed that when I rate songs on my iPhone (that I own, not in Apple Music), and plug my phone back into my computer, iTunes doesn't update my computer with the same star ratings.

Has anyone else experienced this, and know how to fix it?

My goal is to give a song 4 stars on my phone, and the next time I plug my iPhone into my iMac have iTunes on my iMac also show the same, four star rating. This isn't happening right now.
