Hi guys, some days ago I bought a Sonnet Encore G4 1.2Ghz Cpu upgrade for my Powermac 3.3.
Dowloaded the Sonnet Firmware updater for 10.4, tried with the Sonnet CPU and gave me this error :

Readed somewhere that the update should be done with the original cpu, changed cpu, the same thing.
Today I installed Leopard, and tried again (with the sonnet cpu there) and the same thing, any ideas?
I already have the latest apple official firmware for this powermac..

Did you try to zap PRAM and reset NVRAM in OF then try updater again?
I assume that you're following instructions from Sonnet site: http://www.sonnettech.com/support/kb/kb.php?cat=316&expand=_a2&action=b176#b176

Nope.
yes those were the instructions that I was following, although I was misunderstanding them (I didn't realized that I needed to reboot in programing mode, thanks a lot.
Firmware updated , with the processor on (I guess they only say thaht you need the original processor for machines that don't work with the upgraded cpu without the patch.
Thanks a lot
