Hello to you all,
I have just purchased a 2012 Mini Quad i7 in really good shape and after the usual upgrades (CL9 DIMMs, fast SSD, etc.) I am considering the eGPU addition as next and final step.
Looking around in this forum I've seen no mention about the Sonnet xMac Mini Server (first generation TB1 interface) used as eGPU enclosure... I see the onboard power supply can deliver 150W only and this is certainly a limit but apart that, are there other reasons to avoid those units?
I mean, with a MSI Radeon 560 ITX Aero (for example) I should be fine with PSU power, so are there other issues I should expect if I purchase one instead of the usual Akitio / Breakaway / etc.?
