sonoma 14.2.1 desktop widgets vanished

this is odd but this morning i noticed that my desktop widgets arent there anymore. restarting the macbook and they come back for 30 seconds then disappear. anyone have this issue and is there a fix?

I'm having the same problem with widgets just disappearing but I don't think they reappeared even briefly after a restart of my Mac studio...
