No reason for them imo when Bose and Sony headphones exist. They went on sale just a few months after launch. Says all you need to know.

How good are those headphones? I really want the AirPods Max because they fit my criteria the best but they cost literally twice as much. As awesome as they might be, 600 bucks for a device this old doesn't seem worth it

I would wait for the AirPods Max 2 , but seeing as apple adopted a rather V shaped profile in the app3, I'm not too hopeful about the max 2 keeping neutral sound

I’ve been waiting for the sale cause I’m moving to a new house on Tuesday and plan to set up a Sonos surround system in my living room - just bought an arc ultra and subwoofer and will I use my existing play ones as surrounds.

Buy Sony XM6s or the still fantastic XM5s if you want something cheaper

Last I tried Sony is horribly warm , overly bassy. Besides the ear cups are too shallow, my ear are in direct contact with the foam , which is very irritating . They improved the foam but it's still not enough .

Unless you have a Sonos setup for your tv and need to listen with headphones at night or something I don’t see the point.
