Sony and Apple are such good friends. Now what i wonder is, would Sony ever cross the river and join us in the land of orchards? The PC market is abysmal, and Sony's style (and mark ups) don't reaally fit there. Plus, Sony seems to like this digital hub idea too. So maybe, possibly, Sony, with the appearance of the G5, comes on over hardware wise? Sony could fill the between iMac and true Apple Pro line. i mean face it, the pro line is just pro in price right now. Thus Apple could focus in truly revolutionary multimedia megamachines. Also, all they have to do would be replace the "o" in Sony with an apple.

among many mac people, sony is the only pc company they seem to respect
it has been a rumor that it would be sony that bought apple out if any large fish came along and did a full on buyout of apple...and unfortunately, there is always the fear that microsoft could do the same, now that the monopoly business has died down some
the untimate hope is that apple will continue to thrive as an island in silicon valley and somehow survive on the mac faithful's dollars alone and stay in a guaranteed niche market

Sony is an incredible company. They are innovators in the electronic world....and are always on top of the game with just about everything they work on. They have but a 3% markup on their computer systems....which shows they don't need to jack up their prices to make money. People who buy Sony, know what's going on. It's the same with Apple; we all know the quality we are purchasing. I feel the 2 are both innovators in many ways....and with Apple's subtle move into consumer electronics, it only adds to the imagination as to what could be. Maybe at some point the 2 companies will do something so revolutionary, it'll have all of the PC world shaking their heads wondering why they didn't think of it first?
