Hello

I've just bought a Macbook Pro and I've read that I can't insert the mini-dvds from my Sony camcorder into it. The camcorder I have is the DCR-DVD404E which is about 6 years old...unfortunately, the 404E model does not have a USB connection, which is quite annoying. Does anyone know of a way I can connect the camcorder to my mac?

Or do i need to buy an external DVD drive that will read the mini dvds and connect via USB? If so, can anyone recommend a tray loading ext.dvd drive that is mac compatible and can read mini-DVDs?

Also, will i need to convert the movie files on the DVDs into a different format before i can use them in IMovie?

Thanks

when buying just check on spec for mac compatable or works with pc's and macs to be sure but most plug and play drives should work fine

Use handbreak to convert the .vob to QuickTime files (or whatever you want )
