Sony DCR-HC90 compatibility

I am having problems connecting my iMAC to mySony camcorder DCR-HC90. At the moment iMOve doesn't even see the camera and not able to do anything at all! Called apple and get all sorts of stuff that the camera might not be compatible and have to install special driver??? weird. Also saw an article that apple supports most tape based cameras.

Anyone out there using this camcorder with iMovie??

Are you using the FireWire connection (iLink) or the USB connection? You should be using FireWire.

Hello - did you ever get your HC-90 to work on your iMac?

Yes I got it to work. Shut down with FireWire disconnected, open iMovie connected using FireWire and worked! really didn't do much diffrente and worked, juts like magic...
