Hi All,

Just got the above phone, and now in the hunt for a way to get it to sync via iSync.

Anyone able to point me in the right direction?

cheers all
:):):)

Hi there,

I just got mine yesterday too and found a plugin here - it's from a German company called Mactomster and costs £7.99 which is annoying but hardly breaks the bank.

It seems to work just fine syncing my C902 with an Intel Mac running Leopard (so far I've only used it for syncing contacts via iSync but all the other Bluetooth-ey things show up as working) the only minor niggle (beyond the cost) is they've used the same iSync icon for the 902 and 702 so those of us with 902s get a picture of the wrong handset.

Those two minor niggles aside this seems like a decent solution - hope it helps

C902

Hi does anyone know how i can put my pictures and music onto my c902 via the usb!bluetooth is slow cos only can send a item at a time not a file!
When i connect my phone it asks what to do ie:media transfer etc but once selected nothing appears on desktop on mac!!do i need some sort of sync!!!!!!!
Any help would really help as had two phones which have done it now!!thanks.

I don't know if you need iSYnc, but after I'd installed the plug in and had synced it to my Mac - I later plugged it in via USB. It asked me three options, one of which was file transfer. I chose this and it appeared on my desktop as a Hard Disc - which you can then transfer files to and from.

I seem to recall I tried uploading music this way, but they didn't appear on phones playlst - this did work if I used bluetooth.

i Sync

Thanks for reply but i still have no luck installed a new plug in from feisar and synced my phone and followed instructions to do it via usb!!but not happening just wont appear in anyway!
Think il keep my eyes open for any hints in the future as it is a new phone!thanks again mate.

On the official website it says that the C902 plugin is only compatible with Bluetooth for the time being. Guess you'll have to make do with that, if you can.

I'm sure now I think about it that I got it working via USB cable before I got the Bluetooth plug-in.

When I plug in the USB cable I have 4 options that appear on the phone:
Phone Mode
Media Transfer
Print
Mass Storage

When I chose Mass Storage, the phone appears on the desktop as a hard drive. This takes about 15 seconds to mount.

I can't see why anyone would want to do it via USB? Our Macs have bluetooth, our SE's have bluetooth - what's the problem?
If you don't have BT, buy a dongle. It's much, much easier than having to plug USB in everytime.

Anyway, this iSync plugin only works with Bluetooth. End of story, let's stop going in circles please.

Ths is a discussion forum - so we'll discuss to our hearts content:)

The man already said he wants to do this as he finds with BT he can only do 1 file at a time and he reckons it takes to long if your doing several files. Plus it is as fast ( if not faster ) to hook up a cable as it s to go through all the menus to send / accept / view them if you do Blue tooth.

I didn't say we couldn't discuss it, but I was merely pointing out that this particular plugin will only work with Bluetooth, not USB. If you want to make a USB-compatible plugin, then go ahead but you'll get nowhere with this one :)

Fair enough - but my input is you do NOT need a plug-in to get your computer to recognise your phone ( although I would agree that you'll not have syncing ability ):)

Does anyone know what kind of picture file types the phone will recognise. I sent a .jpg to the phone so that I could use it as my wallpaper. When I went to do this on the phone it told me that the file cannot be used. I also can't view the pic on the phone, it just comes up as a black screen.

How did you send the file - I've sent .jpg files via bluetooth, and it seems to work fine.

Help me....

I got a new Sony Ericsson C902 phone and I've tried everything, I bought 2 different Pluggins as suggested, I've reinstalled iSync, I've cancelled and cleared my old phones connection and data and still not working :-( Maybe I'm doings omethng wrong with the pluggins. ?

I sent them via bluetooth and usb. It's weird because the phone will let me view gifs and png's fine. Cant edit any of these in photo dj though.

Thankyou

Jbrown a big thankyou!you have solved alot of time by directing me to use the mass storage option and waiting, this is how it worked with a w880i.thankyou for your input.

i Sync

When i try and upload my i sync for the c902 my mac asks me the me'i sync must be located in the main applications folder on your boot-up hard disk'!!!
How do i do that so i can sync my phone to my mac!!!
Any help would be be great thanks.

Just got sony c902 Mobile

Hi all, I got the c902, and paired it with my mac leopard. The phone/mac will not connect although it recognises my mac. I can't send by bluetooth.
I have read about the plug ins to down load. do they solve the problems of the phone and computer connecting?
Also, my mac won't read the cd that came with the phone. will the plug in solve this as well, or is it not really needed to manage photos on the mac?

Any help please in plain lingo - I'm very non techie!

Hi,
The cd that comes with the phone is pc / windows.

The phone should pair with your mac no problems - if not try pairing your mac to your phone ( rather then phone to mac )

The plug-in will enable you to sync your details via iSync ( address book / calender etc.)

Feisar...

Hi guys, first mac, first post.

I've downloaded and tried to use the feisar plugin but have problems.

There are no options within isync to select a dominant data source, i.e. only copy to Mac, or only copy Mac contacts to phone.

Is there any way to get this?

I only ask because for some reason each time I sync my phone it deletes all my contacts on my phone and adds them again in the following format with the hyphens in front:

- Adam
- Ali
- Aaaah why won't this sync properly

I could deal with this as it's purely cosmetic, however it means that if I add a new contact onto my phone this will be store at the other end of my contacts because there is no puncuation in front of it.

Lame. Oh Macs are pretty but at least Sony Ericsson PC suite works properly. Such a pain.

Ideas? thanks a lot

The reason there is no dominant mode is because the mac and isync realise that the most recent edited version of a calendar event or a contact is the correct one, and makes sure that that version exists on both devices - same goes if you were syncing more than 2 devices. There is no need for a permanent dominance.

However you can KINDOF force a mode like this.

Open isync and select the c902 then go to Devices -> Reset device.

This will force a write of all your mac data to the phone without mingling.

Alternatively, remove the device and re add it and you get the drop down box option of "erase all on device then sync' and something else.

Hope this helps.

Your hyphen problem - the c902 and mac (i presume it's something to do with the plugin) don't like contact entries of just one word - it's because technically everyone has a first and last name. To get around this, make sure you do all your editing of the contact, like remove the hyphen or create a new 1 word named contact, on the c902 which keeps all the hyphens off - just how you want.

HOWEVER I think an 'erase all on device then sync' will change them back to the mac style.

Hopefully Similar Question

Hi

on a similar vein - does any one know of a way of syncing photos held in Address Book with the SE 902? I know that I can share the photo and then add it but this will not then update when my conact changes

Thanks
