Really hope they have drivers for Mac. A good reason to kick out the ole broadband if I actually buy a powerbook!
I'm about 70% sure that EDGE is a new data protocol for wireless phones. Like GPRS, except faster (300kbps I've heard). This would be pretty sweet to have if you travel a lot. Wouldn't work for me at home though, as my entire neighborhood is a black hole for reception, and my cable connection is still faster
