Can't make a choice, but from seeing a friends FW900 it still shocks me with the picture quality.
 
Your poll makes no sense. You cannot compare a specific CRT monitor (Sony FW900) to a generic LCD monitor.

What I meant was for one person to pick a LCD they got/wanted, and compare it to the FW900. And which one would you pick if you had the choice.
 
LCD.

The FW900 is gorgeous (I've seen it a couple times in person and its always breathtaking) but guess what, I don't want a pickup truck sitting on my desk that uses archaic technology (only VGA or sony's thing for computer hookups)

I'd get the expected Dell 2407WFP-HC (HC is the key there), the Gateway 24'' or the BenQ 24'' LCD. All are fine choices with gorgeous pictures.
