Sony hdr-cx105 movie transfer to Mac OSX tiger with iMovie HD

HI,

I'm facing issues transfering the HD movies taken with the sony hdr-cx105. I have a memory stick duo card which is recognized by the computer once the two devices are plugged but I can't put my hand on the movie files. There are bench of PC files there but not the movie files which should be (from what I've been told) easy to transfer... If anyone has a clue. Thanks a lot.

Your cam records to AVCHD format. iMovie 6HD will not import them. You need iMovie 8/9 to ingest them. Or buy another program that recognizes AVCHD. I still use iMovie 6 but bought iMovie 9 just to get the movies in. Once in iMovie 9, I use iMovie 6 to import and edit. I think its a better editor.
