Anyone have any input on which camera is the better one to go for of these2? Ive been really wanting the FX1 but i understand that its the older model. I saw the video reviews on CNET and they said the FX7 was somewhat more confusing as a camera, making the FX1 a better choice. Im upgrading from a dinky little canon elura mind u. So any prosumer camera will be better than the one i used to have. Im mostly going to be shooting special effects tests, some short movies, and also do some wedding videography on the side. Let me know your thoughts. Thanks

Bones

Hi

I've used the FX1 for a couple of documentaries and they're ok for the majority of commercial type jobs you might have and weddings. Lightweight, straight forward to use and produces reasonably good color and a sharp lense, but the audio isn't pro level, you'll need an adapter to hook up any xl mikes or be very careful in how you do your audio for best effect. All in all its a good starter to practice your craft before you find the urge to buy a high end camera. It's a bit bulky compared to the newer cameras but impressive for those who don't know anything about video
(like clients at a wedding)
all best

Thanks a bunch Patrick. I appreciate the heads up. How is it in low light situations. Seeing that most wedding receptions end up in dim lighting, can I still get good quality?
