Hey guys, im new here, i just have one question.

im planning on buying the new 2.4Ghz 17" MacBook Pro and i wanted to know if i can import the files from my HDR-SR1 camcorder and edit using iMovie, and if iMovie will not work can you please tell me which program do i need to buy so i can edit the video files from my camcorder? also, that camcorder uses the AVCHD file format to record.

I have an HDR-HC3 video camera that works just fine with iMovie, so I don't think you'll have any issue.

Does it have a Firewire port (or USB) on the camera?

but the problem is that its AVCHD, not HDV, i dont know if iMovie supports AVCHD because this format is only aboue 8 months old

DON'T BUY IT!!

Mac's don't yet support AVCHD. I have no idea when apple will be introducing this into quicktime. If you want a high def hard disk camera you'll have to wait until september when Sony release the XDCAM EX. It's gonna cost more than the current consumer models thought
I hope you read this in time:eek:

...got a but confused. I thought you had a mac and were going to buy the camera. Either way, I'm pretty certain it won't work.
Please post any developments on this though.
