Hi guys.

Apparently Apple decided to use Sony's camera for the next gen iPhone instead of Omnivision's.

This was pretty odd to me since I always thought Apple wanted to be a bit different by using different parts from different companies.
Although this time Apple uses 80% Sony and 20% Omnivision for their camera.

The thing that worries me about this is that the iPhone 5 camera may not be as good as the current iPhone 4 camera. I don't think Apple would end up using a worse camera, but each company makes their stuff differently....

Omnivision stated to Apple about their 1080P VGA camera has some negative points and after that, they decided to choose Sony.
iPhone 4's 5MP camera also has good and negatives.

Some people likes it, some say its horrible.
Though 5 to 8MP is a good leap (from 720 to 1080P).
Most smart phone cameras are now 1080P so :p
Besides, Sony is good with cameras also.
I wouldnt worry too much.

How do you have a 1080p VGA camera?

I wouldn't worry. The SE Arc already has a better camera than the 4 and that module is a generation behind what Apple will be getting.

Could be true. There was a time when SE had the best cameraphones back in their K790/800 days.

Seems like the Arc is the only one that can rival iPhone 4's video recording capability while also surpassing it in still photos. Most others tend to have inferior video recording that is choppy with less frame rates compared to iPhone 4. Even the LG Optimus 2X has worse video recording than the iPhone 4.
