So, I've got a Sony FW11E laptop which I purchased in October for £635 for my uni work and I sold my MBP to my dad. I have regretted this quite a bit because I really love macs but just found alot of software I was using was for Windows Only.

Anyway, my dad has offered to swap my Sony for the MBP and I'm looking for advice on what to do. The specs are as follows:

Sony FW11E: 2.26GHz Penryn Core 2 Duo, 2GB Ram, 250GB Hard Drive, ATI HD3470, 16.4" Glossy Screen, etc

MBP: 2.16GHz Core 2 Duo, 2GB Ram, 120GB Hard Drive, Not sure about graphics, 15.4" Screen.

What do you guys/girls think?

Macbook pro with parallels, and the specs are not much different.

agreed, swap back for the mbp, upgrade the ram (if you can) then run parallels, fusion or bootcamp with a windows partition/image

Will I notice much difference in performance between the 2?

It depends what applications you'd be running. Generally, the Sony will probably outrun the MBP but on the other hand, Windows ends up running many $#@! in the background. Id get the Sony, especially if u need windows apps.
