sony or?

today i got a Sony Handycam HDR-CX12. if the 17 inch macbook pro is ever updated i'm going to buy a 2.8, 4 gigs RAM model and use final cut studio 2.

i do not know too much about what is a good camcorder so my question is:

is this a good camera or would buy buy a different one around the same price to use with a macbook pro and FCS2?

From what I have read the Sony Handycam HDR-CX12 seems like a good camera. Using Final Cut Studio was a great choice. May I ask what you are using this camera and editing suite for? I seems like you are pretty serious so I was just wondering if this was for semi-professional videography to professional videography or home movies.
