I have a Sony Mini-DV camcorder that I purchased about five years ago. Last year I purchased a Sony HD Camcorder. There is only one difference when reading the specs on each power adapter that I found.

The older camcorder's power block says DC OUT - 8.4v 1.5A and the newer camcorder's power block says DC OUT - 8.4v 1.7A. Does that .2 make any difference?

I would like to only use one if I possible.

It probably won't make any difference at all. Ideally, use the larger of the two power supplies.

Also make sure the plugs physically fit into the opposite camera. Sony is bad about changing plug styles frequently.
