Sony Walkman in Virtual Box

I just got a new macbook pro and am running Windows 7 via virtual box so I can access Rhapsody. I have a Sony Walkman model E438f that I'm trying to get to update on Rhapsody to go...basically my walkman is not being recognized in virtual box, it does show up under the devices tab on the top of the screen, but its dim (not bold and clickable). The walkman works fine on my work machine which is a pc with windows 7, so the walkman is working fine. I'm new using virtual box and macs so I'm hoping that its something simple. Any help is greatly appreciated.
