I've been test driving a pair of Sony WH-1000XM-4 headphones to support remote work and video conferencing on my M1 Pro. Unfortunately, the experience quickly proved to be suboptimal for video conferencing (hard to explain but when using Google Chat, I couldn't get a reliable audio output, and when I did, it was short lived. There was also a noticeable lag).

Has anyone had a good experience with this? I expect the AirPods Max would "just work" but the sound signature for music isn't exactly what I would have liked and it's an expensive solution for what I'm looking for.

(I did see there was another issue that discussed these headphones with Intel Macs, but the complaints seemed to be somewhat different. Thus I created a new issue vs bump/change scope).

I don’t know if there is a specific problem with those head phones, but the M1 Macs do have a Bluetooth reliability issue. I would recommend using it wired.

Sorry I don’t have a better answer myself.
