Sony XR500v and FCP7 Problem

So I have been using Final Cut Pro 7 to import and edit footage from my Sony xr500v for about a month. It was all working fine until 2 days ago, now the camera will not show up in Log and Transfer. It will show up in finder with everything there, but not FCP or iMovie. The only thing I can think of that I did is delete some of the files off of hard drive of the camera to save some space. I cant remember if it stopped working after that or not. Any ideas what could be wrong?
