Soon to be mac user: question about 2 users?

How does Leopard handle 2 different users? On our Windows machine we have 2 identities and we each log out so that each of us will be able to select the email program and it will put up just the current users email.

How does Leopard/Mac handle this scenario? My wife and I will be sharing the computer and we both like having our email pull up just the current users email.

You can have separate user accounts on the Mac as well, not a problem

You don't need to log out of one account in order to log into the other, either.
