So the new phones are available for order on the 12th. Does that really mean at midnight on the 11th or midnight on the 12th? Im trying to figure out what night to stay up late? Lastly what time zone is that based off of?

You should stay awake starting Thursday night. Pre-orders begin friday at midnight Pacific Time (-8:00). That would be 3am Eastern Time and so forth.
