I was wondering, is there a way I can partition my HDD into 3 parts, one for OSX, one for Ubuntu, and one for my music and movies so both OSX and Ubuntu can read them (so I can save some space instead of having to back everything up on each OS).

I was thinking of creating 3 partition through Disk Utility, but I was afraid that it would erase my OSX OS, and which format I make the third parition for music and movies.
