Surely by now IOS would have supported this, but alas, I cannot seem to find a fix

Is there a way to sort contacts by *company*. I see 3rd party apps that do this within their own *app* but ideally I would want it sorted within iOS Contacts as apps, navigation, etc are ~intergrated~ into the iOS Contacts

Is there a way I can turn off-remove *Suggested Contacts* as well that is pulling over from my MS Exchange server....

Unless your thinking of something different, I believe that feature has been their since iOS 3.0.

Once in your contacts, go to the search field and begin to type in a name of a person, last name or a company name, and the iPhone will shorten the list to just the ones that best match.

yes, ~searching~ is doable and will pull up the contact.

I just wish it was sorted in the ~view~ as a default option when I view contacts..

Viewing via contacts is such a standard way....

I'm pretty sure I know what they're asking -- I'm looking for the same thing.

When I create a new contact on my Mac, there's a little box to check that says "This is a company". Check that, and the contact shows up on my iPod sorted and displayed according to the company name, correctly ignoring the less important name of the contact person at the company.

However, if you create the new contact directly on the iPod, there's no corresponding checkbox, and the contact always shows up under the person's name -- which is never where I'm going to look for it for many of these companies. I'm calling to talk to the company, not have a personal chat with their representative. The OP might be able to solve their problem by syncing to their Mac, then using Address Book to check the company box, then syncing back to their iDevice. But my Mac is in storage for a few months, so I don't have that option. :-(

Instead of listing a first and last name create a new contact and enter the company name in the company field ONLY. This will display the contact in ABC order by the company name. If you want to add a name NEXT to the company name reopen the company contact and NOW add the first and last name. The contact will now be displayed as: Apple John Doe or Apple Mary Jane. This is useful if you have multiple contacts under one company name.

EasyContacts is the answer

The best app out there (to sort by COMPANY NAME) that nobody knows of is called "EasyContacts". Be sure to search for it was written in the app store. It is money well spent. Every person I show this app to decides to buy it. I use Card Scan still to scan business cards and then export the contacts to Outlook. I then sync my iPhone via iTunes to read my Outlook contacts. PERFECTION!!

Sadly, as of December 2015, EasyContacts no longer works as described. The recent iOS updates have rendered the great feature of sorting by Company Name obsolete. I do not want to waste time creating groups for every company but that may be the only choice.

It is hard to believe that there is no app that sorts via Company name in the entire app store

[doublepost=1555440121][/doublepost]There is an app called Contacts by Company that handles this really well.
