Hello,
Here's something that's been driving me mad since installing Mavericks:
In some (perhaps most) folders, I can sort files differently (name, date, etc.) by clicking on the titles of the columns (e.g., "date modified"), including by changing the direction of the sort via a second click.
In other folders, I cannot. No matter what I click, nothing happens, and the folder remains sorted in whatever arbitrary way it was. Repeated tries (close the folder, open it...) does nothing. At best, I have to click "View" and then select "Arrange By", etc., and even then the results sometimes seems a bit off. At that point, I can reverse the direction of the sort, but still not change to "size", etc., by clicking the titles on the folder window; I have to go back to the menu for that.
It sometimes seems that only folders containing a larger number of files have this trouble (though not a huge number). Waiting, as if perhaps it's just very slow, does not help.
Does anyone know what's going on?
Thank you.
