Sorting in Finder

In Snow Leopard I had my Applications sorted in Finder by Kind, this put the applications at the top and all the folders at the bottom

Anyone know how to do this in Lion

I can sort by name, but this just sorts the whole thing (apps and folders mixed up)

or I can sort by application category (photography, utilities etc), but this gives me a huge list of other at the bottom

all I want is a simple list, sorted in alphabetical order, apps at the top, folders at the bottom

I use icon or list view, dont use/like the other view options
