Sorting of Photo Albums by name

I sync my photos to my iPhone 4S using my PC, which runs Photoshop Elements. Previously to IOS5, the albums were always sorted by album name. Now I can't tell how they are sorted, as it seems random. Perhaps it is by the date of one of the photos in the album?

I notice that you can now manually sort the albums in any order you like, right on the phone. However, once it syncs again (using iTunes), it goes back to its random order.

Is there a way to resolve this, or do I just need to wait for Apple to fix it?

I've noticed others have talked about the sequence of their photos in IOS5, but I haven't seen a posting about the sequence of albums.
