Sorting phhotos into albums in apple photos

Hi,

Ive dragged a load of photo albums from an external HD into photos but it hasnt kept them in there albums just 3000+ photos spread out.
Is there a way to put them into there original albums without doing it manualy 1 at a time.
I cant delete them all and start again as all my iphone pics are mixed in.
