All of a sudden, my iphone 13 pro max started showing sos where the LTE/5g strength should be. I tried resetting the network setting and turning it on and off by up/down/side button until apple logo -but it keeps coming back. My provider is verizon and I am in my house where signal is not a problem - has anyone else experienced this? I am on 16.0.2

I've seen this as well where out of nowhere it loses all signal (also Verizon) on an iPhone 13 Pro Max, if you check the forums here and elsewhere you'll see others reporting it happening also regardless of carrier. I have not seen a fix for it yet.

I did check verizon and they did not seem to have a problem. I did look first but I only got the emergency sos threads -sorry

Not going to help, but a datapoint: seeing it occasionally on SE 2020 on 16.0.2 with ATT. The update with network settings reset seemed to calm it down, but does still happen from time to time when out and about. A lot less than it was happening with initial release.

Instead of hard restart, might try Airplane Mode first to shake things up.

My iPhone SE 2022 switches between my carrier and SOS Only constantly! Contacting my carrier's tech support came first. They requested me to reset network settings, turn off wi-fi/bluetooth/airplane mode, checking that their software's up to date, etc. In the end, they told me there's "maintenance being done in my area". Does that mean they're figuring it's "not their problem"? This behavior began after updating my iPhone SE 2022 from iOS 15.7 to iOS 16.2 earlier this month. I sent in a feedback bug report to Apple and hope someone comes out with a fix for this glitch.
