Soul Calibur and Star Wars fans gather 'round -- while haters grab a six pack of Haterade and their always-ready flamethrowers -- because Namco Bandai has finally released new info on the rumored secret characters set to appear in their highly-anticipated fighter, Soul Calibur IV, and 1UP has 'em first. In case you don't believe your eyes as they scan over these screenshots, you are indeed seeing the legendary purveyor of the Dark Side, Darth Vader, and his Force-wielding nemesis, Yoda.

Hmm... I would've called April Fools, but it's bit early. I was OK with Link and such but Star Wars? I'm a huge fan of SC but damn Star Wars? What are we going to see next? Legolas? King Leonidas? Neo? As if the SC series didn't lose enough cred with the brokeness of SC3 and the crap that is Legends. Now they throw in Star Wars? I'm not a fan of this at all *shakes head* I'll have to accept though.

Darth doesn't look badass with that corduroy suit he's wearing. Yoda is looking cool though.

Namco lost me when they decided to push all the female character designs in the game even further into horny otaku territory. It's just embarassing at this point.
 
What the hell...

That's taking it a bit far if you ask me. Is this game going to become a medley of fighters from every conceivable franchise?

We have Link, Heihachi, that thing from xbox (spawn?), and now this.

Whatever next.
 
At least Link fitted into the scheme of things, Heihachi and Spawn didn't work at all. Starwars ? :rolleyes: At least LOTR would have suited the theme but starwars ? Just don't get it.
 
Well thats what they do and how they turnover a bigger profit...I really don't think that they will work the star wars characters into the main story-line so it shoudn't be that much of a big deal.

The selection fits the console though.....yoda=xbox360 Dark Vader=PS3

But the one thing that I'm not understanding....wheres the wii version?

Namco Boss: Well Gents, our game already has girls with breasts that shame Lara Croft so we have horny young kids under our thumb. How do we attract more people?

What's funny was right before I read that post I was thinking "Nice ass..." :D
 
Well I'm excited about playing as Vader at any rate. I wish they'd just make a full Star Wars fighting game using the SC engine.

That would be much better than it is now. II am very skeptical of the inclusion of SW characters into SC.
