sound blanks out during calls

I got my white 16G yesterday and I've noticed that when I call people (on ATT and landlines) they complain that my voice cuts out for seconds at a time. I have good reception (generally four bars). Anybody else having this problem? This seems to happen with both WiFi and 3G.
