Looking for a portable way to amplify my ipad 3 sound and tired of using my hands to cup the speakers. So i searched and found 5 options and wanted to know if anyone had tried or had opinions on the following options ...

1) Horn stand $16.99
http://www.amazon.com/Unique-Retro-Silicone-Stand-Speaker/dp/B006M6SZEO

2) Soundbender $12.99
http://www.simplyamazinc.com/

3) Soundjaw - 12.99
http://www.tinylightbulbs.com/all-products/soundjaw.html

or these two new ones on kickstarter

4) Amplifiear - $20

Even though they all do the same thing i'm not a big fan of the horn. I use a few different cases with my ipad that make the use more comfortable than using it naked or with smart cover. Plus i play games so i would prefer something that stays on. I doubt soundjaw works with cases. I'm leaning more towards foco for useability and price.

The foco is nice but I worry about the pu pad. I bet it will lose its stickiness after a while and the foco will keep falling off.

I am Capta user (also UDS product) and can say that PU pad is ultimate sticky pad you will see. If it gets dirty it will reduce stickiness to surfaces, all you need is to wash it off and it is like new. Material is like nothing I saw, it leaves no markings on device.

I'm using the Macally Smartmate. It ain't perfect but does a pretty good job of redirecting the sound. Even better it isn't big and goofy like all of those.

You just read my mind. I greatly appreciate that feature.

I really wish they would make a case with the built a metal strip, smart over holder, and macally like speaker cup with the zum/I blason type of bezel. Would be the perfect case, most only have 1 or 2 of these features

*sigh

I want to try the FOCO but it says Sep 2012?!!
WTF, is that right?

What's the Macally Smartmate?

Yes I saw that as well but knowing these projects on kick most people put those dates to be safe, everybody delivers much sooner.

All of them look hideous and I would never put ANY of those on my iPad. If the sound isn't good enough for you then spend your money on a pair of headphones; problem solved.
